Dennis O'Malley
I was born in Detroit in 1938.
My family moved to Chicago in 1940 and settled on the north side. I met my wife Mary Lu while we attended DePaul University and we raised our four children in Evanston.
My primary interest in my own art has been drawing and painting Chicago scenes. In 1995 I was introduced to printmaking and the artists at the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative. Deborah Maris Lader, Holly Greenberg, Margaret Buchen and Molly Briggs are my mentors. Printmaking in all forms became my focus and I have been working at the Collaborative since 1995.
As a student of printmaking I try to expand my work in many forms of work on paper. I concentrate all my effort in these media on Chicago topics.
